why don’t we have a robot arm which can paint?
The term robot comes from the Chech word ‘robota’ generally translated as ‘forced labor’. Wikipedia the free encyclopedia defined robot as a mechanical or virtual intellegent agent that can perform taska authomatically or with guidance, typically by remote control.
We call a branch of technology that deals with robot is robotics. In practice a robot is usually an electro-mechanical machine that is guided by computer and electronic programming. Robots across the glob are designed for different purposes some of them include:- for heavy repetitive manufacturing work,to handle difficult,dangerous,or boring tasks for humans.Robots are designed according to the objective autonomously,semi-autonomously and remotrly controlled.
Types of robots include:-swarm robots,industrial robots,military robots,mobile and servicing robots.
My robot arm will have different purpose which is to paint.It will have four main parts base,arm,hand and palete.
The base is found at the bottom of the machine and everything will be built on it and it can rotate 180 degree.
The arm will be joined at the top of the base by joint system.
The hand part is found at the top of the machine and will be attached with the arm with another joint also it will handle the brush to paint.
The palete is found at the bottom of the machine attached with the base and it will be consisting of six colors.
The power source for my robot will be a battery or plug in according to the compatibility of future contexts.
My back ground is an industrial designer combined with high artistic skills so I wantto make a kind of robot arm which can make ordered paintings by the message from a programmed computer. Currently in my first phase I have planned to do the arm which can paint the Ethiopian national flag. At the beginning the arm will paint the green color according to the degree it will be programmed and put the brush in to gas to clean it then start to paint the yellow one and put the brush in to the gas again finally it will paint the red one.
After I have realized some technical stuffs I am going to pass to the next advanced level which will anables me to make an arm machine which can paint other things. As you can see the picture on my wall, the guy is using his hands to paint so i want somehow to replace this with my robot arm. I beleive the courses which I am going to take will help me to acomplish my purpose so that I will do whatever is expected to achieve the above indicated project.
My arm machine will detect the message from the computer which is programming language and try to picture it on a given paper or any other kind of material. The machine will use different colors and a kind of brush like thing to put an
ordered message on the given material.
